About the Webinar:

Methodical recording and documentation of the existing form of cultural heritage is essential for its protection and conservation. Traditionally these processes have heavily depended upon rigorous measured drawings and keen human observations. Advancement in technologies are opening up new ways of data capture, processing and representation of the information. Digital tools are providing increasingly detailed and accurate information within relatively shorter time span. This webinar aims to introduce the participants to the methods of digital documentation of cultural heritage. Case studies of historic sites will be presented by the experts of techniques such as photogrammetry, laser scanning and GIS mapping. Participants will be able to understand the basics of selection and application of the digital tools with reference to the typology of the cultural heritage.

2. Maniyarasan R – Coordinator, C.A.R.E Design Cell, C.A.R.E School of Architecture, Trichy, TN and Ph.D Candidate at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (Department of Design)

3. Dakshay Bhagtani – Assistant Manager, Shayona Management Services Private Limited. (SMSPL). SMSPL is working on scanning and processing of historic monuments in Rajasthan and Gujarat which also includes World Heritage sites. 

4. Pallavee Gokhale – GIS Expert and Ph.D Candidate at Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER), Pune 

5. Khushi Shah – Conservation Architect and Adjunct Faculty at CEPT University
