Ashna is a practicing architect and academic. She holds an undergraduate degree from CEPT University and MA in International Architectural Regeneration and Development from Oxford Brookes University, UK. She has been a visiting faculty at the Masters in Conservation and Regeneration program, Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University since 2018 and has also taught Design Studios and Architectural History and Theory courses at Navrachana University and MS University, Vadodara in the past.
Her key research interests include heritage tourism and its role in urban regeneration, community-led approaches in heritage conservation, and contemporary interpretations of traditional Indian architecture. Her master’s dissertation involved assessing the potential of community-based tourism as an approach to regeneration of historic urban environments.
She is a member of ICOMOS and part of the National Scientific Committee on Cultural Tourism.
Ashna is also the co-founder of Fifth Column, an architectural practice based in Vadodara.
