Jignesh is a Senior Consultant & Team Leader with CUPP with more than 23 years of international professional experience gained while working as urban planner and urban designer in the USA and India. During this time, Jignesh has led and worked on significant projects winning the National Award from American Planning Association (APA), and HUDCO National Design Award. His areas of work range from large scale statutory Development Plans, Master plans and Local Area Plans to Transit Oriented Developments (TOD), Development Regulations (DCRs), Form-based Regulations, Heritage Precinct Planning and Urban Design solutions.
Jignesh has spent about 12 years in the USA, working with both private sector global firms, and public sector organizations, in places such as Chicago, San Francisco, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Detroit, etc., besides Dubai and Bhutan. As a consultant, some of the projects Jignesh has led and worked on include Development Plan for Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA), Amochu Development Plan for Phuentsholing, Bhutan, Regional Framework Plan 2040 for Chicago, TOD plans for California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA), Los Angeles Metro, Washington Metro and AUDA, Canal-front Development, streets and under space design etc. Currently, Jignesh is leading projects for preparing LAP, TPS and DP in various Indian cities. He is also involved in projects for providing guidance for improving statutory mechanisms and policies at the State and National levels. In India since 2011, Jignesh has been involved in the planning and urban design practice as well as in academics.
Jignesh is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor and Program Chair of Master of Urban Planning at CEPT University. Jignesh holds a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from University of Illinois (UIC), Chicago, USA and a degree in architecture from CEPT University. Jignesh is an Associate Member of Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI) and Council of Architects (CoA) in India, and a former member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and American Institute of Planners (APA).
