Dr. Sangeetha Ann is a transport planner – civil engineer with more than nine years of experience in the field of sustainable transport, with expertise on consultancy, policy research & analysis and capacity building. She completed her doctoral degree in 2019 on the topic “Examination on the Influence Area of Transit-Oriented Development: Considering Multimodal Accessibility in New Delhi, India” from Nagoya University, Japan under the prestigious MEXT scholarship.
She also holds a master’s degree in Transport Planning from CEPT University, India and a civil engineering degree from the College of Engineering Trivandrum, India. She is passionate about working on sustainable transport, NMT, informal transport, multimodal integration, last mile connectivity and energy - emission modelling with the larger goal of contributing to low carbon development. Dr. Sangeetha inherently understands the transport issues faced by cities in developing countries and is driven by the need to provide safe, comfortable and sustainable travel options to passengers through ground level work and policy recommendations.
Currently, she works as a technical consultant with Center of Excellence – Urban Transport (COE-UT), CRDF. Her previous experience includes organizations such as The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) – an environmental think tank and the United Nations Center for Regional Development (UNCRD). She has to her name various publications, including articles in academic journals and book chapters.
