Shaily Gandhi is a geospatial technology expert with a focus on integrating GIS and data science into governance, urban planning, and policy development. She holds a PhD in Geospatial Technology from CEPT University and has worked across research, practice, and institutional strategy.
As the former Deputy Center Head at the Center for Applied Geomatics (CAG), CRDF, she led initiatives that advanced data-driven decision-making in public systems. She also served as Program Chair for the Master’s in Geomatics (MGeo), where she mentored emerging professionals and contributed to geospatial education.
Shaily collaborates with national and international organizations including DST, ISRO, GIDB, GIZ, and CODATA. She holds leadership roles with CODATA Connect, ISRS, ISG, and IEEE CEPT, and was recognized as a Geospatial World 50 Rising Star (2023).
Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and research-led innovation to enhance the role of geospatial data in addressing complex societal and environmental challenges.
