Upendra Kumar has been working as a Transport Planner at the Center of Excellence in Urban Transport, CRDF, for the past two years. He earned his Master's degree as a gold medalist with a specialization in Transport Technology and Policy from Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya in Vadodara, Gujarat, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Gujarat Technological University.
Upendra's work primarily focuses on strategic transport planning, where he excels in developing comprehensive service and business plans for bus operations. He leverages his exceptional data analysis skills to implement data-driven solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of transport systems. His recent projects have involved the integration of multi-modal transport systems, the formulation of electric mobility strategies, and the creation of actionable plans for improving public transport services. He has extensive hands-on experience in public transport planning at local, city, and regional levels, particularly in the deployment and management of electric buses.
Currently, Upendra is supporting the Government of Gujarat in formulating and implementing an electric mobility strategy for the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme, focusing on developing effective solutions and strategies to enhance public transport systems.
