Yash Solanki is an Associate Transport Planner at CRDF, contributing to key initiatives in the transport sector in Gujarat, with a focus on public transport and sustainable mobility. He is actively involved in the execution of the PM e-Bus Sewa and CMUBS Schemes, supporting cities and the state and coordinating with the Ministry. His work includes public transport route planning, electric bus deployment planning, operational scheduling, technical assessment of bus services, and various other activities related to bus transport operations and e-mobility transition. He has also been contributing to providing technical support to the Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM) in strengthening urban bus transport systems and promoting the adoption of electric mobility in public transportation.
Yash holds a Post Graduate degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Nirma University, Ahmedabad. Prior to joining CRDF, he worked as a Senior Engineer at Infinite Civil Solutions Pvt. Ltd., contributing to various projects with NHAI and MoRTH, including pre-bid quantity estimation. During his internship at the Research and Consultancy Cell, SVNIT, he contributed to feasibility studies for new BRTS routes and scrutiny of DPRs under PMGSY Phase-IV.
His professional and research interests include public transport planning and operations, electric mobility and e-bus systems, bus route and schedule planning, traffic engineering, sustainable urban mobility, and transport accessibility. His M.Tech. thesis focused on pedestrian accessibility to public transport, integrating perception reporting gaps with quality-of-service and built-environment indicators through a case study of Surat City.
