Dr. Shivangi Somvanshi from the Centre for Applied Geomatics (CAG), CEPT University, participated in the one-day roundtable workshop on the NAKSHA program held during Geospatia 2025 in Kolkata.
The Department of Land Resources (MoRD, GoI), in technical partnership with the Survey of India, has launched the NAKSHA program to modernize and strengthen urban land records through accurate cadastral mapping and advanced geospatial technologies. The workshop, organized in collaboration with SAIARD–RSIGST, highlighted NAKSHA’s vision with a special focus on North Eastern states.
Sessions covered advancements in UAV-based surveys, satellite imagery, GIS-enabled land reforms, and live demonstrations of WebGIS applications and GNSS rovers developed under the program.
The event served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration toward strengthening urban land governance across India.
