The session titled “Next-Gen Geospatial Intelligence: Innovations, Applications, and Ethics”, proposed by the Centre for Applied Geomatics (CAG), CEPT Research & Development Foundation, CEPT University, was held at GIFTS Summit 2025. The discussion examined rapid advancements redefining geospatial capabilities and their broader ethical implications.
Moderated by Dr. Shivangi S. Somvanshi, Centre Head – CAG, CRDF, CEPT University, the session featured distinguished speakers including Sajeevan G, Scientist G, C-DAC; Dr. Stutee Gupta, Scientist, National Remote Sensing Centre (ISRO); Mr. Ankit Tewari, Business Development & Customer Success Manager, GalaxEye Space; Mr. Bhupesh Gupta, Founder, GeoNomads Consulting; and Mr. Harsha Vardhan Madiraju, Associate Director, OGC.
The deliberations covered AI/ML-driven Earth observation, drone and UAV applications, digital twins, next-generation satellite missions, geospatial ethics, and capacity building. The session highlighted both the opportunities and challenges in shaping a responsible, innovative, and impactful geospatial future.
