Its teaching programs are designed to build thoughtful professionals, and its research programs aim to deepen the understanding of human habitat. The CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) is a multidisciplinary think-do-tank promoted by CEPT University. After over four decades of consultancy, research, and advisory work, the university established CRDF in 2013 under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 (non-profit company) to undertake and manage the increasing volumes of research work in the domain.

About the Data Scientist Position:

CARBSE is seeking applications for a full-time Data Scientist with a strong interest in building science, energy systems, data analytics and machine learning. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful research through large-scale data processing, predictive modelling and statistical analysis that support research, policy and technology development initiatives. The selected candidate will work alongside multidisciplinary research teams while utilizing CARBSE's state-of-the-art laboratories, computational resources and research infrastructure.

To be eligible to apply, candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology or a related field.

Candidates holding a Bachelor's degree should have at least 3 years of relevant experience.

·       Process, manage and analyse large streams of time-series data generated from field sensors, environmental monitoring systems, HVAC, lighting systems and other building performance and urban climate monitoring infrastructure.

·       Develop predictive models to optimize energy consumption, forecast peak demand loads and support data-driven decision-making for building performance and environmental research.

·       Develop and implement anomaly detection algorithms to identify equipment faults, system inefficiencies and operational anomalies before failures occur.

·       Undertake independent scientific data analysis and scientific writing to support technical reports, research publications, analytical outputs and project deliverables in collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams.

·       Proficiency in Python or R for advanced statistical analysis and machine learning is essential. Knowledge of SQL and time-series databases such as InfluxDB and TimescaleDB is required. Experience with Spark, Hadoop or cloud-based data platforms will be an added advantage.
