The CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) is a multidisciplinary think-do-tank promoted by CEPT University. After over four decades of consultancy, research, and advisory work, the university established CRDF in 2013 under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 (non-profit company) to undertake and manage the increasing volumes of research work in the domain.

About the GIS Specialist Position:
CARBSE is seeking applications for a full-time GIS Specialist with a strong interest in climate, urban environments and geospatial analytics. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful research through geospatial database management, remote sensing, spatial analysis and scientific interpretation that support research, policy and capacity-building initiatives. The selected candidate will work alongside multidisciplinary research teams while utilizing CARBSE's state-of-the-art laboratories, computational resources and research infrastructure.

CARBSE | To be eligible to apply, candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geomatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related field. | Candidates holding a Bachelor's degree should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. | · Develop, maintain and manage geospatial databases supporting research in climate, energy and the built environment. · Conduct spatial analysis and map the spatial distribution of urban heat islands across city landscapes and other environmental phenomena using GIS and remote sensing datasets. · Process, analyse and interpret geospatial datasets including Landsat, MODIS and ECOSTRESS thermal datasets to support multidisciplinary research projects.. · Undertake independent scientific data analysis and scientific writing to support technical reports, research publications, geospatial outputs and project deliverables in collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams. · Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and QGIS is essential. Experience in processing Landsat, MODIS and ECOSTRESS thermal datasets will be an added advantage. |
