Transport Planner — CoE-UT

Role Overview:

The Center of Excellence for Urban Transport (CoE-UT) at CRDF works on research, policy, and advisory initiatives in urban mobility. The Center collaborates with governments, institutions, and other partners to support sustainable and efficient transport systems.

The Transport Planner will support ongoing projects and research activities at CoE-UT. The role involves assisting with data analysis, documentation, and coordination tasks across projects.

The position is suited for candidates with a foundational understanding of transport planning who are looking to build experience through structured project exposure.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of reports, presentations, and other project documentation
  • Support data collection, organisation, and basic analysis for transport studies
  • Work with the team on assigned project tasks and timelines
  • Support coordination with internal team members and external stakeholders, as required
  • Contribute to maintaining project records and documentation
  • Participate in team discussions and knowledge-sharing activities

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Planning or related fields; Master’s degree in Transport Planning/Engineering is preferred
  • 1–3 years of relevant work experience or internship experience in transport planning or related areas
  • Exposure to public transport, traffic studies, or related domains is desirable
  • Basic understanding of data handling and analysis

Attributes and Skills:

  • Proficiency in English; working knowledge of Hindi is desirable
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with MS Excel; exposure to tools such as GIS, Python, or data visualisation platforms is an added advantage
  • Willingness to learn and work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks with guidance
