The Center for Water and Sanitation (CWAS) successfully organised the two-day "Jal Sanrakshan Mela" on July 20-21, 2024, in Gandhidham, in collaboration with the Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and the Gandhidham Municipal Council. This innovative event brought together rainwater harvesting (RWH) and greywater recycling (GWR) service providers and various stakeholders.

Twelve vendors participated in the Mela, showcasing their latest technologies and products, attracting over 1,200 visitors. The attendees included Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), government officials, corporate representatives, students, and local citizens.

A vibrant Nukkad Natak performance entertained participants while promoting the crucial message of water conservation and security, serving as one of the event's highlights.

CWAS aimed to promote innovative solutions for water management and create awareness about the importance of sustainable water practices. The successful turnout and enthusiastic participation highlighted the growing recognition of water conservation's significance in urban planning and community development.

The event received support from various notable organizations and service providers, including Sujalaam Water Sustainability, NeeRain Private Limited, Allegiance Water Management, RyDOT Infotech Pvt, AAVAD Instrument, Naireeta Services Private Limited, TR Associate and Environment, Krishna Concrete, Meghdoot Water from Air, Maithri Aquatec, and Dhirya Irrigation.

CWAS, along with its partners, plans to continue fostering initiatives that drive sustainable development and resource conservation in urban areas.
