The Center for Water and Sanitation (CWAS) at CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), in partnership with the Faculty of Planning (FP) at CEPT University, is organising the fourth edition of the Global South Academic Conclave (GSAC) on WASH, Climate and Urban Development on 12th–13th February 2027. The conclave is being supported by the Viega Foundation and the Gates Foundation.
Building on the success of the previous three editions, GSAC 2027 aims to advance discussions on inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient urban development. Cities across the Global South face severe challenges from multiple fronts - climate change, rapid urban growth, resource constraints and service delivery gaps. This Conclave focuses on the linkages between urban development, climate-resilient infrastructure planning and delivery of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services.
GSAC 2027 aims to bring together researchers and academics, policymakers, city leaders, practitioners, development partners and private sector stakeholders to share experiences, showcase innovations, and identify pathways for sustainable and resilient urban future.
