3D for Heritage India presents a permanent exhibition to the local communities

As a part of our Project 3D for Heritage India, the last activity at Bela, Kutch was presenting a permanent exhibition to the local community. The exhibition was installed at the example of repair and reinforcement strategies building, designed and built as part of the research project to raise awareness and increase preparedness for the next earthquake.

This was led by Aditya Singh, from Aabhat & Mahavir Acharya, from Hunnarshala Foundation For Building Technology and Innovation. Nigar Shaikh from the CHC CRDF provided valuable contributions during the design process.

The on-site team included Bernadette Devilat Loustalot and Felipe A. Lanuza Rilling from the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Nottingham; Jigna Desai, Mrudula Mane and Saatvika Pancholi from CHC CRDF, and Shubham Daberao from the Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management - India.

The research team for the earlier phases consisted of Mohamed Gamal Abdelmonem from Nottingham Trent University; Rohit Jigyasu and Sukrit Sen from ICCROM, Zeus Pithawalla from CHC CRDF, and Repaul Kanji from GIDM. The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport funded this project.
