Conservation work at Kalidas Jethabhai House

CEPT conservation site school, Kalidas Jethabhai House in Dharmaj, Anand, entered the first phase of conservation work in December of 2023. The wooden structure of the front wing is currently being off-loaded by carefully dismantling the dilapidated portions, non-structural elements and walls. This aids in conducting a detailed condition assessment of the existing structural wooden members. Gandhi Construction Company is carrying out the dismantling work under the supervision of the CHC team.

The process involves labelling all wooden members that are to be dismantled with unique codes before removal, followed by packing and stacking them in the material shed constructed on the premise of Kalidas Jethabhai House for subsequent reuse.
