CULREP facilitates Bhopal planners' visit to Ahmedabad

The Center for Urban Planning and Policy (CUPP) undertakes research and analysis to help improve processes and regulatory frameworks for urban land development. CUPP is advising the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (T&CP), Madhya Pradesh for preparing the Bhopal Development Plan 2031. As part of the ongoing engagement, CUPP team facilitated a learning visit to Ahmedabad with peer-to-peer interactions with the Chief Town Planner, Government of Gujarat and leadership from Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority. The Bhopal team participated in discussions on the approach to Development Plan and statutory planning framework in Gujarat State.

Over the last five months, the CUPP team has reviewed and assessed draft plans, reports and regulations prepared by the T&CP. It will soon submit final recommendations for a robust comprehensive plan that will support urban expansion and sensitive planning and regeneration of older areas.
