In-situ Timber repair at Kalidas Jethabhai House, Conservation Site School

The second phase of the conservation work on the front wing of Kalidas Jethabhai House, CEPT Conservation Site School in Dharmaj, commenced in February 2024. In the initial phase, the structure underwent careful dismantling of deteriorated sections and non-structural elements, alongside assessing the condition of wooden structural members. Each beam and column, once assessed, is repaired in situ using material recovered from the dismantling process carried out in the back wing in May 2022. The conservation work is being carried out by Gandhi Construction Co. under the supervision of the CHC team.
