The Building Energy Performance Laboratory at the Centre for Advanced Research in Building Science and Energy (CARBSE), CRDF, CEPT University, has become an approved Accredited Independent Testing Laboratory (AITL) of the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC). CARBSE is the seventh laboratory and the first AITL outside the United States. The CRRC is a not-for-profit organization that develops unbiased, accurate, and credible methods to evaluate the radiative properties of building roofing and exterior wall materials and products. Recognized by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and the International Glazing Database (IGDB), and with nearly 20 years of expertise in building materials, envelope, and system performance characterization—including cool roofs, insulation, glass, and cooling systems—CARBSE remains dedicated to sharing its knowledge and services to promote energy-efficient and climate-responsive built environments.
As the focus on enhancing building energy efficiency, improving heat resilience, and reducing urban heat island effects grows, the importance of cool roofs and cool surfaces becomes increasingly significant.
