Prof. Shivanand Swamy discussed best practices in integrated public transport at the 14th Urban Mobility Conference 2021

Prof Shivanand Swamy, Emeritus Director, Center of Excellence in Urban Transport, CEPT University (CoE-UT), CEPT Research and Development Foundation, joined as a panelist in the session “Best Practices in Integrated Public Transport” of 14th Urban Mobility Conference 2021 held on 29th October 2021. Prof Swamy delivered a presentation on “Evaluation of Public Transport Integration in Indian Cities”. He highlighted the need to adopt a comprehensive approach towards multi-modal integration rather than adopting standalone measures. He highlighted the key components of multi-modal integration: Network & Service, Physical, Fare, Information, and Institutional Integration.

Prof. Swamy even highlighted their elements. He presented the Maturity Matrix for Multi-Modal Integration (4MI) Tool developed by COE-UT, CRDF CEPT University which has been developed as part of the SMART-SUT project jointly implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and GIZ India under the Indo-German Green Urban Mobility Partnership (GUMP).
