Prof. Shivanand Swamy of CoE-UT was interviewed for the 25th January edition of the NavGujarat Samay newspaper. In the interview "When the Traffic Problems on City Roads will be Solved," he spoke about the measures on effective planning of the public transport systems for a sustainable Ahmedabad. He suggested that pedestrians should be given more preference than private modes of travel. And to build efficient public transport systems to safeguard citizens from rising fuel prices in future, and better policies for parking. He emphasized the need for a Metro network in the city. He also addressed that Ahmedabad will become expensive in future and multimodal transport systems will help citizens in terms of living expenses and additional traffic issues.
