Community Mapping Expedition

This year Center for Applied Geomatics, along with Mahila Housing Trust, shall celebrate GIS Day with a community mapping expedition of the Bhagwatinagar slum, Odhav, Ahmedabad.
This event promises to be an engaging and collaborative experience for all the participants, and we believe your unique perspective would greatly enrich the mapping process. Join us in shaping an inclusive map that reflects the diverse assets and strengths of our community.
This Community mapping expedition would engage community members in a participatory manner from the Bhagwatinagar slum, allowing them to share their knowledge, experiences, and insights. This helps empower individuals and fosters a sense of ownership and pride in the community.
In this event, we will be using various tools and technologies, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), community mapping software, and even traditional paper maps, to visually represent the community assets and resources.
