Advising preparation of Bhopal Development Plan- 2031

The Directorate of Town and Country Planning, Bhopal (T&CP) is in the process of preparing the Bhopal Development Plan 2031 with the objective of transforming Bhopal into a thriving metropolis. The focus of the Development Plan is on revitalisation of old city areas, managing urban expansion using land pooling techniques, encouraging mixed use and promoting transit oriented development. The Center for Urban Planning and Policy (CUPP), which undertakes research and advisory work to help improve land development and regulation policy is advising the T&CP in this effort. CUPP has brought together faculty members, practitioners and domain experts to review the proposed Bhopal Development Plan and provide recommendations and revisions towards ensuring that the plan meets its objectives.
