Centre for Advanced Research in Building Science and Energy (CARBSE) has been entrusted by the Millennium Development Authority in Ghana to support the Government of Ghana in establishing energy efficiency centers in the country. These centers will train energy auditors and energy management professionals to ensure that a cadre of qualified and certified professionals are available to assist public and private institutions, industries, and commercial customers in implementing cost-effective energy efficiency measures. Rajan Rawal, Director of CARBSE attended the first stakeholder workshop in April to deliberate on objectives, organizational setup, and functioning of the proposed centers. The workshop was attended by leadership of twelve universities of Ghana, government officials, industry organizations and trade organizations. Over the next hew months, CARBSE will prepare a roadmap for the Government of Ghana and develop training content for proposed centers.
