Center for Advanced Research in Building Science and Energy (CARBSE), CRDF, Cept University successfully participated in an interlaboratory comparison (ILC) study on the determination of radiative properties of building materials in accordance with EN12898. Radiative properties help determine the thermal and energy performance of buildings. ILC provides an opportunity to verify infrastructure and human resource proficiency with its peers. Participation in such ILC was voluntary.
15 laboratories from nine countries participated in the interlaboratory comparison. During the interlaboratory comparison, two identical samples were sent to all the participating laboratories to assess the proficiency of the measurements. The measurements of all the laboratories were then compared statistically based on the reference standard (ISO 13528) established for multi-laboratory comparisons. Statistical results, as denoted by Z-score, indicate that CARBSE conducted one of the top three most accurate measurements among all participating laboratories.
