CoE-Infra to support GPYVB for the 2024 Fair

Tue, July 09, 2024 Announcement

The annual Bhadarvi Poonam fair in Ambaji city, scheduled from September 12th to 18th, 2024, is set to attract millions of devotees. This revered event draws pilgrims from Gujarat, other Indian states, and abroad, many of whom travel on foot. The Center of Excellence in Infrastructure (CoE-Infra) plays a pivotal role by providing technical advice in the planning of various works for the Gujarat Pavitra Yatra Dham Vikas Board (GPYVB). Their efforts ensure the smooth execution of installations within and around the temple to enhance pilgrims’ comfort.

The key set-up is the 'Seva Camps' along the pilgrimage route. These camps offer refreshments, medical aid, accommodation, and, most importantly, a safe path for the pedestrian pilgrims. This initiative is crucial in managing the immense footfall, which saw over 1.5 million pilgrims in 2023.

GPYVB and CoE-Infra began their preparations with a reconnaissance visit approximately two months prior to this year’s festival. Their proactive approach aims to provide even better facilities and ensure a seamless and safe pilgrimage experience for all attendees.
