CoE-UT, CRDF working on a Strategy Action Plan for electrification of autorickshaws in Mahesana

The Center of Excellence in Urban Transport, CRDF with support from the District Collector, Mahesana is working on a Strategy and Action plan for electrification of autorickshaws in Mahesana under the UK Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions Programme (UKPACT). As part of this, a workshop cum exhibition on electric auto-rickshaws with the support of the District Collector office and Mahesana Nagapallika was organized on Tuesday, 28th September 2021 at the Town Hall, Mehsana from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

In the event, the keynote address was delivered by Mr. Udiit Agarwal (IAS), Collector and District Mahesana, Ms. Varshaben Patel, Municipality President, Mahesana, and Dr. Om Prakash (IAS), District Development Officer, Mahesana delivered the special address. The inaugural address was delivered by Mr. Parthrajsinh Gohil, Superintendent of Police, Mahesana. 

The aim of the workshop cum exhibition was to sensitize and make the auto drivers in Mehsana aware of the benefits of IPT electrification and how it would bring in improved service quality, cost benefits and address climate concerns. Auto-drivers also saw different electric auto rickshaw models in the exhibition.
