Center of Excellence in Urban Transport (CoE-UT) has won the extension on the grant for the UK PACT Green Recovery Challenge Fund. CoE-UT will continue working with Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute, University of LEEDS and Brunel University. This will facilitate electrification of intermediate public transport and reduce GHG emissions in Ahmedabad. Training of AMTS/BRTS staff on customer orientation and a capacity building program for officials are key activities. An international best practice city visit is also being envisaged for officials from AMC and Mehsana to understand other cities and their approaches towards sustainable mobility. In Mehsana, the key activities include strategic inclusion of women in the IPT operations.
