British Council conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation workshop as part of an on-going Crafting Futures project: Celebrating Clay. Jay Thakkar, Executive Director of DICRC participated in the workshop along with several grantees of the Crafting Futures grant. The workshop was centered around the impact and outcomes of the grantees projects in the current circumstances of COVID-19. Anticipated challenges and possible solutions for the projects were topics of engagement with the participants. 

As part of the same project, Jay was invited to present the impacts of COVID-19 and solutions for the Celebrating Clay project at the India Craft Week 2020, the theme of which was  “A (UN) Certain Future: a strategy for re-building the Craft Sector”. The panel consisted of Jay Thakkar, Director of DICRC, CEPT University, Sunita Bhasin, Director, Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute, Ghatit Laheru, Director, Khamir. This symposium was organized in association with the British Council. This was part of the bigger series of events full of insightful discussions, interactive workshops and screenings of rare films on forgotten crafts. Jay's presentation - Celebrating Clay : Revival of crafts post pandemic addressed the difficulties faced by the craftspeople of Gundiyali, Kutch and the work done by DICRC during this challenging pandemic time.
