CUPP to work on urban greening plan in Ahmedabad

CUPP, through the efforts of Neeru Bansal, has won a commission from the Climate Change Department, Govt. of Gujarat to look at improving urban greens within Ahmedabad as a strategy to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The project is significant for CUPP because of its focus on sustainability and climate change resilience. This project explores how additional carbon sinks can be created in Ahmedabad. It will analyze the city’s existing green cover and propose improvement strategies. From a macro analysis at a city level, it will then zoom into selected sub-city level pockets, carry out detailed mapping of existing green cover and propose local improvement measures.
