Dialogue with MoPR on Rural Spatial Development Plans

Chandrashekhar Kumar, Addl. Secretary, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) visited CEPT University in February 2021 to discuss the Gram Panchayat Spatial Development Plans (GPSDPs).  The Center for Urban Planning and Policy (CUPP), CRDF is among the 17 institutes working on this project.  The plans cover 32 villages across India to achieve integrated spatial and economic development centred on social justice. Representatives from CEPT University and the Center of Urban Planning and Policy (CUPP), CRDF addressed possibilities for implementation, capacity building, supporting panchayats, and preparing guidelines for panchayats.  CUPP also delivered a presentation to the Sarpanch in Tarapur Gram Panchayat and submitted GPSDPs to MoPR for Nandasan GP in Mehsana District and Tarapur GP Anand District in December 2020.
