International Glazing Database recognises CARBSE for the 12th consecutive year

Fri, June 24, 2022 Recognition

International Glazing Database (IGDB) is a publicly available collection of optical data for over 4800 glazing products from manufacturers all over the world.  The Windows and Daylighting Group of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) plays a pivotal role in maintaining technical rigour of IGDB.  This effort is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, The WinDat Network, with support from the European Commission, The Japanese Glass Manufacturers Association, The Australasian Window Council and the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).

The Centre for Advanced Research in Building Science and Energy (CARBSE) is recognised again by IGDB as a regional data collection and review center for the glazing products.  As the review centre, CARBSE is deemed competent to accurately measure thermal performance of glazing products, such as monolithic glass, plastic, laminates, applied films on glass, or thin film coated glass for submissions.  To receive the recognition, the participating laboratories must qualify in the inter-laboratory study, organized by LBNL every four years, that assesses the technical competence and infrastructure capabilities of the laboratories.
