Jay Thakkar invited for podcast discussion by Garland Magazine

Prof. Jay Thakkar of DICRC was invited by Garland Magazine for its first podcast of 2021. Titled ‘The Fourth Wave in Craft Education’, it had Thakkar and Kevin Murray, Editor, Garland Magazine talking about the pandemic's effect on the themes of kite design in context with Uttarayan festival. They also discussed Thakkar’s ambitious projects on vernacular furniture, and Craft Design Innovation Project with Terracotta cluster of Gundiyali, Kutch, Gujarat. Thakkar also shared his thoughts on craft education in India and addressed a “fourth wave” wherein designers seek to learn from the artisans in location.
