Kartikay Sharma, Research Associate, CARBSE and an alumnus of MTech BEP (2015-17) receives a fully-funded PhD position in Canada Excellence Research Chair in Smart, Sustainable and Resilient Communities and Cities, at Concordia University, Montreal. He will be working with Prof. Dr Ursula Eicker, Canada Excellence Research Chair, who specializes in energy efficiency in buildings and sustainable energy supply systems. At Concordia, she is leading a team of energy planners, designers, philosophers, biologists and building engineers to develop integrated strategies for efficient, creative, and accessible zero-carbon cities. 

Kartikay would pursue his PhD in Urban building energy modelling (UBEM) with focus on developing a support system to develop an integrated urban data and modelling platform to monitor and optimize energy performance and to plan zero-carbon strategies for cities. At CARBSE, Kartikay worked in UBEM for India under UK-India project which gave him the opportunity to sharpen his knowledge for further studies. While at CARBSE, he also published three peer-reviewed papers.
