We are delighted to share about the research paper -- Participatory Approaches and Digital Documentation, Can the two meet? -- co-authored by Dr Jigna Desai, Mrudula Mane and Jayashree Bardhan, is published in Thema & Collecta, Issue 9, 2023. The publication results from a symposium held in June 2022 at Brussels, Belgium, to revisit the Valletta Principles conceptualised in 2011 by the International Committee on Historic Cities, Towns and Villages (CIVVIH), ICOMOS. The CHC scholars contributed to the deliberations by reflecting upon the experience of working with communities in an Indian city (Ahmedabad), a town (Dharmaj) and a village (Bela).

We thank our collaborators in digital documentation endeavours: CAUGH at Nottingham Trent University, UK, WAQF Board of Ahmedabad, Avichal Foundation at Dharmaj, Hunnarshala Foundation at Bhuj and the residents of the village of Bela, who are instrumental in our continuous development of the participatory approaches that are sensitive to the Indian cultural context and heritage sites. We also thank ICOMOS Belgium for this opportunity.
