Prof. Shivanand Swamy of CoE-UT presents at the National Conclave on Urban Planning

Prof. Shivanand Swamy as a transport sector specialist joined the technical session of the National Conclave on Urban Planning at Sabarmati Riverfront House, Ahmedabad.  The two-day event was organized by the Union Government's Urban Planning Department with the support of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.  Representatives from various esteemed organizations - MoHUA, SRFDCL, NITI Aayog, RERA Gujarat, U.N Habitat, CREDAI, etc. - were present. 

Prof. Swamy delivered a presentation on New Practices and Emerging Issues in Urban Planning.  It focused on land-use transport integration, public transport mode selection based on city sizes, bus priority concepts and its overall benefits.  The session was concluded by Mr. Keshav Verma, Chairman of the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd. with valuable comments on overall transport planning practices in India.
