Prof. Shivanand Swamy speaks at The Economic Times Smart Mobility Conclave 2021

Prof. Shivanand Swamy, Director Emeritus, the Center of Excellence in Urban Transport (CoE-UT) delivered a talk at the Smart Mobility Conclave 2021 hosted by The Economic Times.  The discussion ‘Evolving Trends in Urban Mobility: Enhancing Business and Economic Growth’ was joined by other eminent speakers.  Prof. Swamy emphasized technological innovation, city-centric approaches, sources of funding, and widening our vision for public transport for the future.  “Transformation is not just about who operates the transport (public vs private). We will need to tailor-make solutions for different cities. Private transport is not a panacea,” said Prof. Swamy.  The speakers also discussed the contribution of IT and the change in travel patterns due to the ongoing pandemic.
