Ramit Raunak, Research Associate, Center of Excellence in Urban Transport (CoE-UT) writes for The India Dialogue and discusses the essential policy reforms in the Indian electric mobility sector.  With several national-level policies and schemes along with 13 states with dedicated EV policy, Ramit writes about the roadblocks and the way forward towards progressive policies.  He also highlights that despite coal-based thermal power plants being a source of India’s energy, electric vehicles can arguably improve air quality.  Ramit also emphasizes evaluating the EV policies from the lens of sustainability in this unique shift to electric mobility from conventional fuel vehicles.
