Sanitation workshop for women councilors in Wai

Thu, August 08, 2019 Workshop

The Center for Water and Sanitation (CWAS), under their Citywide Inclusive Sanitation Project, conducted a two day workshop for women councilors in the city of Wai in Maharashtra. Wai has become a model city for sanitation in the State by instituting a faecal sludge and septage management (FSSM) framework. It has recently set up a faecal sludge treatment plant and starting a scheduled desludging service for all septic tanks in the city. In this context, this workshop with elected women representatives aimed at building their capacities on inclusive and sustainable sanitation practices, their role in effective sanitation governance, and importance of participation in septage management.
