Shaily Gandhi ranks among world's 50 Rising Stars

Dr Shaily Gandhi, Deputy Center Head, Center for Applied Geomatics, CRDF, ranks among the world's 50 Geomatics Scientists. "Geospatial World 50 Rising Stars", launched in 2021, recognises young individuals excelling in geospatial tech with a global and inclusive approach.

Selected from first-rate nominations across the global community, the panel of juries agreed on 50 exceptional candidates who stand out and are well on their way to redefining the next generation of geospatial leadership. Shaily is a GIS expert with PhD in Geospatial Technology and is Program Chair for M.Tech in Geomatics at CEPT University. She has led research & industry projects with organisations such as ISRO & GIZ and curates podcasts on Spatial Data with industry experts. She aims to implement GIS and data science for better decision-making in Urban Analytics and define spatial data standards for data interoperability. With her extensive experience in GIS and data science, Shaily strengthens the relationship between academics, research and professional practice.
