CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) conducted two different programs to build capacities of government officials on urban planning and development processes. The first training was organized as part of  Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA)'s accelerated capacity building program for 25 cities identified under the Smart Cities Mission. The program aims to build capacities of government planners to effectively use Local Area Plan (LAP) and Town Planning Scheme (TPS) mechanisms for managing redevelopment and urban expansion in their cities. Four such programs on LAP and TPS formulation will be organized over Aug and Sep 2019 and will be attended by about 120 participants. Read more

CRDF has also partnered with Government of Madhya Pradesh to train their newly recruited State Administrative Service (SAS) Officials on urban development issues and challenges. The 2-day training was organized on 13th and 14th August at AMA, Ahmedabad. CRDF and IIM-Ahmedabad have been jointly hosting this ‘Urban Orientation Module’ for the last two years.
