Advisory support for planning, design & development of BRT system in Ahmedabad, Hubbali Dharwad and Surat

CoE-UT has played a lead role in planning, designing and implementing the BRT Systems in Ahmedabad, Surat and Hubbali Dharwad. The Center was engaged in all aspects of the project right from drafting the Detailed Project Report to preparing tenders and detailed design drawings for all elements of construction including pavement, junctions and geometric road design, bus shelters, depots and terminals, ITS, etc. In addition the centre also supported the cities in route rationalisation and service planning along with performance monitoring. The BRT systems in these cities operate as rapid high quality transit systems providing considerable travel time savings to passengers, creating an attractive image of public transport system, facilitating shift to sustainable modes and encouraging TOD.
