Regional Policy Initiatives for Circular Economy Transition

This project at CWAS involved collaborating on regional policy initiatives in Nepal for community participation in attaining a circular economy transition in the solid waste sector. It was supported by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and carried out in collaboration with the Intellectuals Center, Nepal, along with other consortium partners from Bangladesh and Vietnam.

CWAS supported the preparation of a policy guiding document and strategic campaigning guide on "Effective and Inclusive Citizens Participation towards Circular Economy Transition". As part of the Regional Policy Dialogue, conducted in August 2023, CWAS presented a brief overview of government initiatives on circular economy under the Swachh Bharat Mission as well as a deep dive into the case of Karad city in Maharashtra.
