Workshop on Envisioning a People-Centric, Inclusive, and Sustainable Mobility Future for Ahmedabad

A state-level convening and city-level workshop was organised by Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in collaboration with CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) under the MobiliseHER project.

The one-and-a-half-day workshop brought together around 100 stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organisations, urban planners, domain experts, and transport practitioners, to deliberate on how Ahmedabad’s mobility systems can become more inclusive, sustainable, and people-centric. Discussions focused on shaping a collective vision for the city’s mobility future, rethinking transport through an inclusive lens, sharing experiences on sustainable mobility solutions from other Indian cities, and exploring strategies to engage citizens in the planning process. Participants also joined site visits to key public spaces and transport nodes, gaining firsthand insights into on-ground challenges that will help inform innovative approaches to mobility planning and design.
