Capacity Building

CRDF

CRDF in association with IIM-Ahmedabad (IIMA), has been hosting the ‘Urban Orientation Module’ for newly recruited State Administrative Service (SAS) AS officers.  As part of this capacity building program, the Dy. Collectors visited the IIM Ahmedabad.  This capacity-building program covered urban development and governance, with Gujarat taken as a case study in context with urban planning.  It covered urban infrastructure and smart cities, urban transportation, urban heritage management, and urban housing and slum redevelopment programs.  CEPT University’s professors engaged with CRDF and conducted these modules.  The recruited officers also spent 2 days in the university to get exposure and learn about the issues and challenges of urban development.  CRDF has conducted 5 batches since 2017 as part of this capacity building program, with the last one taking place in August 2019.  Each batch had 30 fresh SAS officers.  The SAS officers had a great experience attending these batches and visiting the CEPT University to enhance their knowledge about efficiently managing urban governance and development.
