Sustainable Conservation of Jaigarh Fort Precinct

The Center for Heritage Conservation (CHC) and Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust (JPCT) have entered into an MoU for the sustainable conservation of the Jaigarh Fort Precinct in Jaipur. After conducting a preliminary scoping visit in November 2023, the CHC team conducted a detailed visual assessment of the site in March 2024 to arrive at key safeguarding measures for the precinct.

The collaboration intends to foster a long-term partnership that enables research and education in the area of heritage conservation. The Jaigarh Fort Precinct offers rich possibilities for deep diving into conservation questions related to a historic built environment. This range includes studies on architectural, structural, technological and resource systems. The overall aim of the partnership is to imagine and implement a sustainable future for the historic precinct.
