Agra is a city rich in built, tangible as well as intangible heritage and is famous for the wonder of the world, Taj Mahal. The Center for Heritage Conservation (CHC) is providing advisory support to the Agra Municipal Corporation for conserving and managing urban heritage in Agra. The engagement will result in a pre-feasibility report on management of heritage assets in the city. The Center has carried out detailed spatial analysis of the city, mapped all the heritage assets and studied urban planning and policy frameworks and processes to arrive at various strategies to manage Heritage of Agra. The team has also engaged with important stakeholders including elected representatives, hotelier’s association, traders association and eminent citizens of Agra to discuss their findings and concerns about the city and help build an environment of engagement around heritage issues in the city.
