The Guidance workshop on 'Post disaster recovery using 3D laser documentation methods' was conducted on 19th and 20th August 2021 as a part of our Project 3D for Heritage India. One of the important aspects of the project is to prepare a Guidance Document which aims to provide strategies and procedures for post-disaster survey and assessment using 3D laser scanning technologies that can be applied to seismic heritage settlements, tested in the case of Bela, Gujarat.

The workshop invited experts from various fields to share their vision from the perspective of the future audience. Dr. Gauri Bharat from CEPT University, Divya Gupta from INTACH, Valérie Magar from ICCROM and Prof. Mario Santana from Carleton University provided their valuable feedback. This interaction helped the team reflect on the potential of the technological advances, the methodologies of community engagements, ethical commitments of data collection, storage, and accessibility. The diverse viewpoint helped strengthen the Guidance Document.
